We also recognize that in selecting a supplier, one consideration will be how easy each company has made it do business with them. Therefore, we hope that you've found our new website even easier to use, but just in case, we're pleased to provide you with this help guide.

Browsing for Products

To locate products on this website, you can either 'browse' for products using the category list, or search or products using the search box.

Using the Category List

Select a type of product that best matches your needs from the list on the white pane to the left of this pane at the top of the page.
This is the main navigation for this site. You can access it from any page on the site and in just one click, access the type of products you have selected.
On this page, you can filter or sort your results.
The Showcase Tab

Once in a category, click the green 'Showcase' tab above the main product listings to see Showcase products.
If you click this tab at any point in the site when you are NOT in a category (for example the homepage or shopping cart), you will see the products on Showcase from all categories on the site.
This function can be useful if you wish to learn which products are new or exciting in the industry.
On this page, you can filter or sort your results.
The Specials Tab

To bring you the best value, we often sell our products at less than the MSRP or list price that the manufacturer recommends.
To see products on special, first select a category of product, then click on the green 'Specials' tab.
If you click this tab at any point in the site when you are NOT in a category (for example the homepage or shopping cart), you will see the products on Special from all categories on the site.
On this page, you can filter or sort your results.
The Most Popular Tab

We are pleased to offer our Most Popular tab to help you see what other customers have viewed and purchased recently.
To see the products that are most popular, first choose a category, then click on the 'Most Popular' tab.
If you click this tab at any point in the site when you are NOT in a category (for example the homepage or shopping cart), you will see the Most Popular products from all categories on the site.
On this page, results are sorted by popularity only.

Searching for Products

If you know a part of the name and/or model of the product you are looking for, it may be faster to search for it than browse.

The search box is located above this main content pane, underneath the product bar, to the left of our toll free number.

Using the Search Box

To search for products, enter either a piece of the model number or product name into the search box and, optionally, the type of product you are looking for and click on the search button (arrow pointing right).
On this page, you can filter or sort your results.

Filtering Products

In some categories of product, there are a large number of products. To make your browsing experience easier, we offer a quick filter on each category page that allows you to filter by a specific type of product from that category.

To activate a filter, simply click on the name of the filter you wish to apply.

If there are a small number of products, filters may not be necessary or available.

Sorting Products

From any list of products on a category page or search results, you will have the option to sort by Price, Product Name or Popularity and either ascending or descending order.

If the link is not blue and underlined, it is already selected and applied. Click on a blue underlined link to change this.

Changing Currencies

From any page, we indicate the currently selected currency in a white tab above this pane, next to the 'Help' tab.

To change currencies between US Dollars and Canadian Dollars, click on the tab.

The pricing will change throughout the site and the tab will change to reflect this. The new currency will continue to apply as you navigate throught the site.

Using the Product Bar

The Product Bar delivers relevant products and related information to you based on the interaction you have with this site.

Each product or content block displayed is clickable.

Specials

The specials mode shows products that are currently priced less than MSRP or list price.
Click on a product to open that product page.
From a category page, it will first select products in that category to show you.
From any non-category page, it will select products from across the entire site.
If you wish to see more specials, click on the grey arrow on the right of the product bar and it will advance.
Brands

The brands mode shows the manufacturers whose products are featured on this site.
If you click on a manufacturer block, it will show you all products by that manufacturer
If you wish to see more manufacturers, click on the grey arrow on the right of the product bar and it will advance.
Favorites

The favorites mode shows you the products that are our favorites.
Click on a product to open that product page.
If you wish to see more favorite products, click on the grey arrow on the right of the product bar and it will advance.

Viewing Product Information

You can access detailed product information on a particular product by clicking on product listings in various places on the site : the Product Bar, Product Categories, any of the green tabs, the Showcase products on the homepage, etc.

To make the pages shorter and easier to use, we group different types of product information into different tabs on a product details page. Exactly which tabs appear will depend on the specific product you have selected.

Regardless of which tab is selected, you will always see certain core information - the product name, price, picture, add to cart buttons etc.

The Main Tab

When opening a product details page, the main tab is selected by default. This contains the main extended information on a product. All products have content for the main tab.
If a product can be used with accessories, the most popular ones will be displayed beneath the product.
The Features Tab

The features tab contains information about the key features of a given product. Not all products have a features tab.
The Specs Tab

Contains technical specifications for the product you have selected. Not all products have a specifications tab.
The Software Tab

If there is software for a given product, you will see a software tab. Occassionally we provide screenshots and detailed explanation of the capabilities of the software product.
The Accessories Tab

If a product can be used with accessories, the entire list will be presented here. Few websites offer you the ability to see large color pictures of accessories as we do through this site.
The Compatibility Tab

If a product is itself an accessory, this tab will appear to show you exactly which products this accessory works with. Few test & measurement websites provide their customers with this type of information.

The Shopping Cart

As in a traditional store, the purpose of an online 'Shopping Cart' is to collect all the items you wish to purchase into a single container that you can take to the checkout.

One you have 'started' a shopping cart, you can continue to browse and - if desired - add additional products as well as remove them again or change quantities.

Once you are satisfied, you can 'checkout' to complete the purchase.

And just as with traditional stores, you will have the option to purchase through a number of different payment methods. In our case, we accept VISA, Mastercard, AMEX, Discover and purchase orders as acceptable payment methods.

VISA, Mastercards, AMEX and Discover are processed in real-time online. Purchase orders require the approval of credit. Find out why.

Adding Products

To add a product to your cart, locate the product you wish to purchase and open to the product details page if you aren't there already. Click on either of the large 'Add to Cart' buttons. Congratulations, you have added this product to your cart!
Removing Products

To remove a product from your cart, first open your cart using the 'My Cart' tab above this pane. Next, mark the checkbox to the left of the product you wish to remove from your cart and click update to commit this change.
Changing Quantities

To change the quantities of products in your cart, first open your cart using the 'My Cart' tab above this pane. Next, in the box that has a number to the left of the product you wish to remove from your cart, change the quantity and click update to commit this change.

Shipping & Taxes

To calculate shipping & taxes, we will need a valid address. However, we do not require users to register to use a shopping cart and therefore cannot calculate these costs until you decide to checkout and we have collected a shipping/billing address.

Nevertheless, we have chosen to disclose the existence of these items on the shopping cart so there are no surprises when you come to check out.
